RegistrationBecause of COVID-19, some participants may not be able to travel to Kyoto. In this new era of uncertainty with respect to large gatherings, WiPDA-Asia is one of the first IEEE conferences to offer a hybrid conference experience between the in-person attendees and those that are not able to travel to the workshop due to potential continuing coronavirus (COVID-19) imposed restrictions. As such, we are modifying our in-person attendance policy and adding a virtual attendee registration and attendance scheme. This will enable participation remotely over a broadcasted conference. Those making presentations that cannot travel, will pre-record their presentations and be live via internet for Q&A after their talk. As remote participants, they will be able to ask questions as any audience member as the session chairs will actively monitor for remote questions. Guidelines for pre-recording oral presentations and posters will be provided at a later date.
It is acknowledged that the workshop experience can never be made as rich for the remote participant due to the in-person networking that occurs, but it will now be a possibility to participate and continue to disseminate research and development results in these restrictive circumstances.
